I got home last Thursday to find a package waiting for me! Anyone who has ever received a parcel overseas knows that it just brightens your whole day, and this was no exception. My good friend Joy Ike sent it to me from Pittsburgh, and included some wonderful goodies and music to help me get by "with a little help from my friends". One of my flat-mates recorded video of my opening it to find some savory and not-so-savory treats. Incredible-ness. I was/am astounded.

Hiram, thanks for the feedback on the Christmas ad. I see in this post that you know Joy. I haven't met her personally, but she's a friend of the CCO where I work and she's played at our Jubilee conference. It's possible that we have other connections too.
Have fun traveling, speaking and playing.
Thanks Sam! yeah, Joy and I are good friends. We did a small tour together with a couple others - we'd probably be doing more, but I moved over here to Singapore to get a PhD in grammatical description of a little-known language. Heh. small world.
I think I may have found you a year or so ago through another friend's blog, but I can't remember which one. Do Ned Bustard or Ken Mueller ring a bell? I enjoy your posts - keep writing!
Ned, yes. He and Byron Borger are buddies. And I know Walt Mueller from CP/YU, but not Ken.
ah, maybe it was Walt's blog.
Quite possible.
